The nominees: Plan and Execution (Better ), A Hard Way to Go (Ozark), The We We Are (Severance), One Lucky Day (Squid Game), All the Bells Say (Succession), F Sharp (Yellowjackets), Pilot (Yellowjackets)
My bets on double nominations for Better Call Saul and Ozark didn’t pan out, but they did each pick up one bid, for their respective finales. The show that scored those other two slots was an overperforming freshman, Yellowjackets, which did very well. The other three shows cited, Severance, Squid Game, and Succession each submitted only one episode, a plan that worked to their advantage.
What should win? It’s hard to beat “Severance,” but “Better Call Saul” comes close.
What will win? I think Succession takes this.
