Emmy Predictions: Best Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie

The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards nominations will be announced on Tuesday, July 12th. As always, chime in below in the comments with any thoughts of your own.

Last year’s nominees: RenĂ©e Elise Goldsberry, Kathryn Hahn, Moses Ingram, Julianne Nicholson, Jean Smart, Phillipa Soo

The competition: This category has a few clear frontrunners: Jennifer Coolidge (The White Lotus), Kaitlyn Dever (Dopesick), and Andie MacDowell (Maid). Other strong possibilities include Juliette Binoche (The Staircase), Parker Posey (The Staircase), Connie Britton (The White Lotus), Alexandria Daddario (The White Lotus), Laurie Metcalf (The Dropout), Juno Temple (The Offer), Ellen Burstyn (The First Lady), Betty Gilpin (Gaslit), and Melanie Lynskey (Candy). If the show is well-received by voters, Anna Chlumsky (Inventing Anna) and Katie Lowes (Inventing Anna) could be nominated, and the same goes for Daisy Edgar-Jones (Under the Banner of Heaven) and Dominique Fishback (The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey). I’d love to see Kathryn Hahn (The Shrink Next Door), and though I don’t think it’s likely, I have a feeling that May Calamawy (Ramy) may be able to score a good number of votes.

The predicted nominees: Binoche, Britton, Coolidge, Dever, Edgar-Jones, MacDowell, Temple

The predicted winner: I’m pretty sure this is going to Coolidge.

Next up: Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series
