Emmy Predictions: Best Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie

The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards nominations will be announced on Tuesday, July 12th. As always, chime in below in the comments with any thoughts of your own.

Last year’s nominees: I May Destroy You, Mare of Easttown, The Queen’s Gambit, WandaVision (All-New Halloween Spooktacular!), WandaVision (Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience), WandaVision (Previously On)

The top contenders:
Dopesick (The People vs. Purdue Pharma)
The Dropout (I'm In a Hurry)
The First Lady (Voices Carry)
Gaslit (Will)
Inventing Anna (Life of a VIP)
MAID (Snaps)
The Offer (Brains and Balls)
The Offer (It's Who We Are)
Roar (The Woman Who Was Fed By a Duck)
Scenes from a Marriage (The Illiterates)
The Shrink Next Door (The Treatment)
The Staircase (911)
The Staircase (Seek and Ye Shall)
Station Eleven (Unbroken Circle)
The Survivor
Under the Banner of Heaven (Revelation)
Under the Banner of Heaven (When God Was Love)
We Own This City (Part One)
WeCrashed (This Is Where It Begins)
The White Lotus
Zoey's Extraordinary Christmas

The rundown: The only TV movie with a real shot here is The Survivor. Among the frontrunners from limited series are those that submitted just one episode, like Dopesick, The Dropout, MAID, and competing as one series, The White Lotus. Also in contention are The Staircase, The Offer, Scenes from a Marriage, and a number of others from above that could crack the list.

The predicted nominees: Dopesick (The People vs. Purdue Pharma), MAID (Snaps), 911 (The Staircase), Seek and Ye Shall (The Staircase), When God Was Love (Under the Banner of Heaven), The White Lotus

The predicted winner: I think this goes to The White Lotus.

Next up: Best TV Movie
