My predictions: 3/8
I took a few big swings here that turned out to be wrong, namely for “Peacemaker” and “Hawkeye,” which earned a collected three technical nominations. Instead, past winner Alex Borstein (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) is back along with last year’s champion, Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), joined again by Juno Temple (Ted Lasso) and now also by Sarah Niles (Ted Lasso). Past winner Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live) is back, alone from her show in this race for the first time in three years, as is Hannah Einbinder (Hacks), who continues to compete in the wrong category despite being excellent and who I had hoped would be joined by costar Meg Stalter. I’m saddest that Sarah Goldberg isn’t here for some truly spectacular work on “Barry,” but I’ll enjoy getting into a new show I didn’t watch past the pilot, watching for nominees Janelle James (Abbott Elementary) and Sheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary).
Who should win? I have too many performances to see before making that assessment but I’m a big fan of Einbinder!
Who will win? Without having seen the rest, who knows, but maybe Waddingham again?
