Contest!

I am proud to announce my first of hopefully many fun-oriented contests. I am currently predicting the actual Emmy nominations, but I plan to begin unveiling my own television award nominees in about two weeks. The main thing I am missing, however, is a name for my awards. I have never officially posted any of my own awards in the past, and have thus never required a name. But I feel it is only fitting now that I give them an official title.

I am calling for suggestions of what my awards should be called (I will also be giving out film awards in January, and those may or may not be titled the same way). I am looking for something clever and creative (better than the "Abe Awards" or something like that). There is no cash prize for the winning submission, but I will ask the winner to create a fun category of their own, honoring something on television that rarely gets mentioned (like "Best Primetime Sandwich in a Drama Series" or something a bit more serious), which will be named after them. This may seem like an insignifcant reward right now, but imagine in ten years, when other awards groups start giving out the "George Washington Award for Best Kitchen Appliance in a Comedy Series" and you can be like, yeah, I was there at the beginning. I am also curious to see how many people are actually reading this blog, and it will give those of you who may not be that involved in the often geeky world of Emmy predictions a chance to get your voice heard. Leave your suggestions as comments replying to this post.

Deadline for submissions is now TUESDAY, JUNE 5TH at 5pm. Enjoy!
