Emmy Race: Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series

This is the fourth in a daily series of Emmy predictions, focusing on a specific category and outlining the most likely 10 or 15 contenders, with an analysis of their chances and the episodes chosen as submissions for consideration. Predictions will be revisited in July as the Emmy nomination announcement approaches.
Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series

Last year's nominees:
PATRICK STEWART, EXTRAS
BEN STILLER, EXTRAS
MARTIN SHEEN, TWO AND A HALF MEN
ALEC BALDWIN, WILL & GRACE
LESLIE JORDAN, WILL & GRACE (winner)

This year's top contenders:
MARTIN LANDAU AS BOB RYAN, ENTOURAGE
Landau has a great role as an aging producer who is cast off by the overconfident Ari Gold. His part is great, and as a guest acting nominee favorite, Landau is almost guaranteed the nomination.

ORLANDO BLOOM AS HIMSELF, EXTRAS
They went crazy last year for "Extras" guest stars and Bloom is really big right now. Who knows?

IAN MCKELLEN AS HIMSELF, EXTRAS
As opposed to his up-and-coming "Lord of the Rings" costar Bloom, McKellen is an established, award-winning actor who is probably great at mocking himself.

DANIEL RADCLIFFE AS HIMSELF, EXTRAS
Radcliffe is supposed to be great playing a version of himself who is terrible at flirting.

DAN HEDAYA AS JACK MONK, MONK
The role of Monk's father is a coveted spot that Emmy voters are sure to love. Hedaya is an established actor, and they went crazy for John Turturro, who played Monk's brother.

STANLEY TUCCI AS DAVID RUSKIN, MONK
I did not see it, but there is no doubt in my mind that Tucci is the perfect person to play an actor playing Monk. Tucci also has a highly-buzzed about dramatic guest appearance on "ER" which should only help his chances.

GIOVANNI RIBISI AS RALPH MARIANO, MY NAME IS EARL
I have heard great things about Ribisi and his hilarious guest spot on the show. He has not yet been nominated for a major award, but I think he is very close.

WILL ARNETT AS DEVON BANKS, 30 ROCK
A nominee last year for his role on "Arrested Development", Arnett is hilarious and plays very well off on Alec Baldwin, no small feat, on "30 Rock" as a rival executive competing to sell a great idea.

LESLIE JORDAN AS QUINCY COMBS, UGLY BETTY
Last year's winner in this category for his turn on "Will & Grace", Jordan has the Emmy love to put him at the head of the pack of obscure-name "Ugly Betty" guest stars.

MARTIN DONOVAN AS PETER SCOTTSON, WEEDS
He appears in every episode of this show's second season, in a recurring role as Nancy's boyfriend. His role is a great one, and if they embrace the show, he could find himself with a nomination.

Current predictions (highly inaccurate, to be sure)
MARTIN LANDAU, ENTOURAGE
IAN MCKELLEN, EXTRAS
DANIEL RADCLIFFE, EXTRAS
STANLEY TUCCI, MONK
WILL ARNETT, 30 ROCK
