Just In Case It Wasn't Clear: I Support Jericho

I know I have mentioned it briefly over the past few weeks, but I remain a huge fan of the CBS show "Jericho" and am steadfast in my opinion that the show should not have been cancelled, especially in comparison to anything else CBS is currently airing. The show was a fantastic show not only for science fiction afficionados but also as a realistic portrait of a not-too-distant future. The characters were great, and how could anyone not think that the occasionally ridiculous Jake (played by Skeet Ulrich) is awesome? Gerald McRaney provided an excellent father figure for both his two sons and the troubled town. Lennie James, as the mysterious Hawkins, made an excellent hero slash villain, which one no one was ever quite sure. Sprague Grayden was great in her limited role as school teacher Heather, and her role in the show's second season would certainly have been just as good. Michael Gaston, despite being typecast as an "ineffective but power-hungry leader", gave it his all and portrayed the town's fallible new mayor, who eventually realized his inadequacy and handed back the reins to the rightful Johnston Greene. The town's interaction with the fake marines and their escalating conflict with neighboring town Newburn were just some of the plotlines that made this show great. This was certainly the best show on network television this season and deserves more than a measly season when terrible shows like "Brothers & Sisters", "Rules of Engagement", "'Til Death", and "The Game" get renewed. ABC made this same mistake with "Invasion" last year, and that show was not nearly as good. I want to show my support for all the videos springing up on YouTube and for everyone sending in peanuts to CBS (the show's finale had Jake telling Newburn "nuts" as a response to their offer to Jericho to surrender). It is not too late to save this great show!
