My predictions: 1/5, picking only Tambor
Who’s missing? Louis C.K., Don Cheadle, Will Forte, William H. Macy
Now this is a very Golden Globes-style list. They retained just one previous nominee, last year’s winner Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent). They dismissed all past inclusions, no matter how long they had been honored, because of their excitement about four new shows, a truly eclectic list. Two are from shows I started and didn’t like: Gael Garcia Bernal (Mozart in the Jungle) and Patrick Stewart (Blunt Talk). I’m really starting to enjoy Aziz Ansari (Master of None) as his show progresses, and it’s great to see broadcast television represented extremely well by the entertaining Rob Lowe (The Grinder). This is a fun list, and certainly a very commendable slate of talent.
Who will win? Since Globe voters don’t usually repeat winners, I’ll go with Stewart.
