Golden Globe Nominees: Best Actress in a TV Series – Drama

My predictions: 3/5, picking Chopra and Wilson over Balfe and Green
Who’s missing? Claire Danes, Julianna Margulies, Ruth Wilson, Priyanka Chopra

Who needs new hot shows on broadcast television when you can just find them on cable, some of which aren’t even new? I don’t know what to make of Eva Green (Penny Dreadful), a peculiar nominee from a peculiar show that I have no interest in ever watching again after the pilot. I was betting against it showing up at all, but it turns out that Caitriona Balfe (Outlander) and her show did pretty well (I’ve never seen it). Taraji P. Henson (Empire) managed to show up along with her show in the top race but without her screen partner, Terrence Howard. And Robin Wright (House of Cards) survived her show being shut out everywhere else for the first time. Rounding out the list is Viola Davis (How to Get Away with Murder), who was always on her own as the standout player on her so-so show.

Who will win? Since her show did so well today, I think Balfe.
