Last year’s nominees: Boardwalk Empire, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, Homeland, House of Cards
The rundown: Only one of last year’s nominees isn’t eligible this year, and that’s “Boardwalk Empire.” I think it may be time for “Homeland” to fall off, but it’s far from guaranteed. “Mad Men” could receive a farewell nomination after being omitted the past two years. “Better Call Saul” has a strong shot at a nomination, and “American Crime” and “Empire” might also show up. I’d love to see “Fargo” earn some deserved recognition here, but I’m not sure that it’s eligible.
