SAG Predictions: Best Male Actor in a Miniseries or Made-for-TV Movie

Last year’s nominees: Mahershala Ali (True Detective), Russell Crowe (The Loudest Voice), Jared Harris (Chernobyl), Jharrel Jerome (When They See Us), Sam Rockwell (Fosse/Verdon)

Four of the five lead Emmy nominees from this past year – Mark Ruffalo (I Know This Much Is True), Hugh Jackman (Bad Education), Paul Mescal (Normal People), and Jeremy Pope (Hollywood) are eligible here. Supporting Emmy nominees Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend), Dylan McDermott (Hollywood), and Jim Parsons (Hollywood) are also possible. The Critics Choice Association also recognized Morgan Spector (The Plot Against America) and John Turturro (The Plot Against America) from the first half of the year, adding in later contenders like Hugh Grant (The Undoing), Donald Sutherland (The Undoing), Chris Rock (Fargo), Glynn Turman (Fargo), and John Boyega (Small Axe). I think that Ethan Hawke (The Good Lord Bird), who was not nominated by the CCA, is likelier than his cited supporting costars Daveed Diggs (The Good Lord Bird) and Joshua Caleb Johnson (The Good Lord Bird). Other possibilities include Bryan Cranston (Your Honor), Jeff Daniels (The Comey Rule), and Brendan Gleeson (The Comey Rule).

Current predictions:
Brendan Gleeson (The Comey Rule)
Hugh Grant (The Undoing)
Hugh Jackman (Bad Education)
Paul Mescal (Normal People)
Mark Ruffalo (I Know This Much Is True)
