Finally, Some Answers...in 2010: Lost

ABC announced yesterday that there has been an end date set for "Lost," which is pretty much great news to fans, due to the extreme frustration and confusion each episode continually creates. There is a catch, however. 48 more episodes will air, which would usually even out to two slightly extended seasons. ABC has decided to make it three seasons, with 16 episodes airing each year, currently set for a repeat-free run, likely from January to May, like "24" currently airs. This means that all the questions fans have will finally be answered, but unfortunately, not until 2010. It is at least reassuring that there is an end in sight and that the plots will not get too outrageous because the writers do have an idea of where they are going and how much time they have (unlike "Alias" which crammed in way too much into a rushed fifth and final season). Hopefully, this announcement comes on the heels of some recent crazy and shocking stuff on "Lost," which might inspire the writers to come up with something good, and maybe an answer every once in a while.
