What I’m Watching: The Good Wife

The Good Wife: Season 3, Episode 10 “Parenting Made Easy” (B+)

This show manages to make trials and other events thrilling without over-dramatizing the specifics of the case, but instead bringing in multiple heavy hitters to create a fascinating and action-packed hour like this one. Appearing in the previously reviewed program at the very same time, Jennifer Carpenter was first on the list as Caitlin’s highly Republican client in her first case, which just happened to pit her against a very vindictive Martha. The fact that she worked for Louis was simply superb, as it gave Michael J. Fox another chance to appear on the show. Alicia running ahead of him to take pictures was rather cutthroat, but nothing compared to his going through her bag after she found Grace, which happened after he so graciously had his driver give her a speedy ride to her home. That extremely serious tangent was a high point of the episode, with Peter calling in the police force to organize a search and Kalinda immediately tracking her phone and tracking her down. John Michael Higgins made for a fantastic arbitrator, and seeing Eli try to make friends with Will was a lot of fun. Wendy seems to be determined to take down Will, and hiring Andrew Wylie means that he’s in real trouble. Ending his relationship with Alicia, no matter how heartbreaking it might be for both of them, is certainly the smart thing to do, and now he can focus on trying to ensure that his reputation, career, and life aren’t ruined by those out to get him.
