Last year’s nominees: Gillian Anderson (The Crown), Olivia Colman (The Crown), Emma Corrin (The Crown), Julia Garner (Ozark), Laura Linney (Ozark)
This category is set for a major overhaul. After just two shows were represented last year, exactly two past nominees are eligible this time around: Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale), who received three consecutive bids previously and shouldn’t be in danger of a snub even if Emmy voters did that to her, and Jennifer Aniston (The Morning Show), who won this prize for her show’s first season. Their Emmy-nominated and otherwise beloved costars might join them, including Ann Dowd (The Handmaid’s Tale), Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale), Samira Wiley (The Handmaid’s Tale), Reese Witherspoon (The Morning Show), and Julianna Margulies (The Morning Show). Recent Emmy and Golden Globe choices that could repeat here are Sarah Snook (Succession), Michaela Jae Rodriguez (Pose), Uzo Aduba (In Treatment), and Christine Baranski (The Good Fight). A Critics Choice pick that would be wonderful is Melanie Lynskey (Yellowjackets), but SAG voters don’t always embrace shows during their first seasons.
Current predictions:
Uzo Aduba (In Treatment)
Jennifer Aniston (The Morning Show)
Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale)
Michaela Jae Rodriguez (Pose)
Sarah Snook (Succession)
