The Flight Attendant: Season 2, Episode 8 “Backwards and Forwards” (B+)
This was a fun finale, one that didn’t offer much more information about Grace but did reveal two major threats hiding in plain sight. It was obvious by the time Dot had Cassie come back with her to an allegedly safe location that she was the one who was behind everything, though I didn’t put together the specific pieces of all this. Cassie was able to think quickly and have Max trigger the alarm remotely, though Dot was able to shut that down just as speedily. Fortunately, Cassie managed to unify all of her personalities and work through not only that threat but the other one that presented itself when Davey was texting her in all caps, which she somehow didn’t find all that suspicious. It’s been interesting seeing Jessie Ennis is small roles on this show and “Better Call Saul,” though Jenny was obviously much more significant here because she was unhinged enough to go visit Feliks in prison and then to make it her mission to get Cassie out of the picture. I enjoyed the parting scene between Benjamin and Dot, and Shane helpfully confirmed at Annie and Max’s wedding that Cassie was very well-regarded at the CIA now because of the many people Dot had hurt and her role in bringing her down. It was also sweet to see Megan get a happy ending, reunited with her family in witness protection and even back on Shane’s good side. This season has been a blast, and, I sincerely hope that its popularity leads to a renewal soon.
