What I’m Watching: She-Hulk

She-Hulk: Season 1, Episode 6 “Just Jen” (B+)

I enjoy this show’s frequent retitling, in this case Jennifer realizing that some people really want her to be She-Hulk and others just don’t want her hogging all the attention. I was happy to see Patti Harrison as the bride, who had Jennifer there in a demeaning position as a bridesmaid with all of the terrible jobs and it didn’t want to be outshone by She-Hulk looking good for the first time. We still have yet to see the suit that was made for her, but the clothes she’s trying on at the moment are definitely an upgrade. I like that Titania showed up at the wedding and tried to gaslight her when she said that she was just there to ruin her life, and they had the chance to duke it out so that Jennifer could show her that she shouldn’t be messing with her anymore. Getting captured on video and embarrassed in front of her followers was definitely not on brand for the social media mogul, and I do hope we’ll see her again only because Jameela Jamil is great in this role. Nikki more than proved her worth with Mallory when took on an absurd case of the man who literally walked out and died every time he didn’t want to stay in a relationship. I couldn’t figure out where I knew actor David Pasquesi from, and I now see that he played the Majordomo, another very funny role, in “The Book of Boba Fett.” As far as the cases we’ve seen so far, this was among the best, and it was nice to see the legal team get to occupy themselves with something outrageous that still needed some legitimate sorting.
