AFT Awards: Best Lead Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie

This is the fifth category of the 14th Annual AFT Television Awards, my personal choices for the best in television during the 2019-2020 season. This year, I’m including a shorter list, with just nominees and a few finalists, if applicable. Nominees are pictured in the order I’ve ranked them.

Best Lead Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie
Last year’s nominees: I’m excited to introduce this category for the first time this year after watching more limited series than ever in my life.

Emmy nominees: Jeremy Irons, Hugh Jackman, Paul Mescal, Jeremy Pope, Mark Ruffalo

Finalists: Shlomi Elkabetz (Our Boys), Morgan Spector (The Plot Against America), Jason Segel (Dispatches from Elsewhere)

The nominees:
Paul Mescal (Normal People)
David Corenswet (Hollywood)
Mark Ruffalo (I Know This Much Is True)
Hugh Jackman (Bad Education

The winner

Russell Crowe (The Loudest Voice) tapped into the motivations and strongly-held beliefs of the late Roger Ailes, making him into much more than a caricature or a one-note villain.

Next up: Best Lead Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie
