Big Sky: Season 1, Episode 15 “Bitter Roots” (C+)
It’s always puzzling to me how Jenny and Cassie manage to escape all of the precarious situations in which they find themselves, with Horst apparently willing to keep Jenny locked up but not quite ready to have her killed, while any number of people, including Rosie, wander around the property armed and eager to pull the trigger on whoever they come across. The Kleinsasser population is dwindling rapidly, with Rand dying a rather slow and presumably painful death and Cheyenne questioning whether she wants to kill her father or just desperately seeks his approval. Even if Horst ends up dead and it’s just Cheyenne and Margaret left in charge, there’s still probably plenty of illicit behavior that’s not going to be tolerated. Sheriff Wagy just driving away after Cassie revealed that she had recorded their conversation made little sense since she didn’t have time to send it to anyone and he could have killed both of the women right then and there. In a very predictable turn of events, Scarlet was the one who killed her ex, and not only that, but she was also fully aware of who Ronald was and eager to support him if he opted to let her in. For what seems like the thousandth time, some sort of law enforcement – this time Mark and Jerrie – are within spitting distance of Ronald and somehow he’s going to get away again, which is beyond frustrating. With the Kleinsasser plotline presumably wrapping up, is this show going to go in an entirely new direction, or is it now going to focus on Bonnie and Clyde on the run together?
