What I’m Watching: iZombie

iZombie: Season 2, Episode 16 “Pour Some Sugar, Zombie” (B+)

It’s easy to forget that there are so many people who know that Liv is a zombie, and I also feel that Peyton is one of the best and most underused characters on this show. Having her move back in with Liv is a great thing, and hopefully it will lead her to being part of the plot on a regular basis again. The best part of this episode was her eagerness and pushiness regarding Liv eating the brain of her would-be whistleblower, far from patient and willing to hear that Liv can’t just eat up and then conjure an easy answer to her every question. Liv trying to give Peyton a lapdance in the strip club was a humorous side effect of the brain she ate, and ultimately it didn’t take too long to solve this particular case. Zombie Gilda seemed pretty in control of who she was despite the fact that she was infected by a mutated specimen, and the question now is who knocked her out and carried her out of the apartment. Major gave himself away as super suspicious when was cagy with Ravi and refused to acknowledge anything about Minor, and Ravi was smart to knock him out before he could spin a web of lies, though he doesn’t know the crucial fact that Major didn’t actually kill any of his victims. Blaine’s in bad shape despite his general bliss, and Ravi needs to start working on a cure that works and doesn’t create total memory and personality loss. Liv was floored when she found out Drake was a cop, and I’d hope that Ravi comes straight to her with the news about Major so that she can find Drake before it’s too late.
