Legends of Tomorrow: Season 6, Episode 1 “Ground Control to Sara Lance” (B)
Well, this was certainly something fresh. I hadn’t realized that last year was the first time that this show returned midseason, and in this case, when all of the CW slate didn’t start coming back until January, this show is off to an even later start, albeit one that will provide new episodes completely interrupted from now through the summer. I wasn’t sure what to make of Sara’s alien abduction that happened at the end of last season, and I certainly would have not have expected that Gary was an alien, something that I’m not sure entirely makes sense but should at least change things up. The idea that Ava would be so sure that Sara was still alive because only she could cause such a colossal, timeline-destroying event as the one with all of the aliens and prisoners floating around the temporal zone is entertaining, though I don’t think it gives Sara quite enough credit as arguably the most responsible of the legends second only to Ava. I suppose Nate is the third most trustworthy given that Ava used her binder to get rid of the rest of them, but they did have their unique value, as has been demonstrated all along. I’m intrigued to see if this aggressive alien abductee will join the legends, and I’m eager for Astra to get on board and start helping with the missions. As usual, I’m excited about what’s to come on this zany, reliably entertaining show that always has some fresh chaos to serve up.
