My predictions: 4/6, picking Louis C.K. and Fred Armisen over Martin Mull and Bob Newhart
This is a fun list, mostly populated by actors who have been nominated for other roles in the past. Bob Newhart (The Big Bang Theory) won when he was last nominated for this part in 2013. Bradley Whitford (Transparent) won last year for the same show but a different part. Larry David (Saturday Night Live) and Tracy Morgan (Saturday Night Live) are both past nominees for half-hour comedy series. Peter MacNicol (Veep) won for “Ally McBeal” over a decade ago. Martin Mull (Veep) is the lone first-time Emmy nominee.
Who should win? I have to watch half of these episodes to be able to judge, but this is a fun list.
Who will win? Without having seen all of them, my money is on David.
