Emmy Nominees: Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series

My predictions: 3/6, missing Harington, Mendelsohn, and Voight

Looks like I made a slight mistake here. I thought from the season one finale that Ben Mendelsohn (Bloodline) wasn’t in the second season of his show, and I guess I skipped over his name when looking at the ballots. That’s my mistake. It’s still strange that last year’s nominees Jim Carter and Alan Cumming didn’t get recognized for the final seasons of their shows. Instead, Jon Voight (Ray Donovan) was fantastically welcomed back after being snubbed last year, and Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) finally got nominated for his most nuanced portrayal of Jon Snow yet. Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) is back, as are Michael Kelly (House of Cards) and Jonathan Banks (Better Call Saul). It’s a shame that Christian Slater didn’t make the cut – he really should have been here.

Who should win? I have to watch Mendelsohn’s episode and finish Kelly’s season, but this is a great list and I think they’re all deserving.
Who will win? Maybe it will finally be Harington, but I suspect that Dinklage could eclipse him.
