Snowpiercer: Season 3, Episode 2 “The Last to Go” (B)
Is there a man more unapologetically manipulative than Wilford? I don’t think so. He was overjoyed at the engagement of LJ and Oz and sought to take any ownership over the wedding away from them immediately. The truly strange power grab (pun intended) with Oz was also disconcerting, but he doesn’t have many limits. Telling Ruth that he had only meant for the limb-removers to be an idle threat wasn’t all that convincing, and she was fully ready to take that horrific punishment after she gave herself up so that the EMP could be activated at a time that wasn’t so convenient for Wilford. Javi is not in good shape, and fortunately he didn’t run right to Wilford to tell him that he had seen Ruth, even if he did get spotted and identified as acting weird by a determined Kevin. It’s good to see a new cast member in Archie Panjabi, best known for “The Good Wife” and last seen aboard a train in “Run.” She should prove an interesting addition to the runaway train. Layton is approaching her in exactly the right way, giving her space to process how different her life is now that she doesn’t need a suit and trying to figure out what she can provide them with to help them take down Wilford. Snowpiercer did make a spectacular and triumphant reappearance alongside Wilford’s train, which got him just as excited since he was very ready to send all his people to their battle stations.
