Supergirl: Season 3, Episode 16 “Of Two Minds” (B)
This show is following a similar trajectory to the one currently being explored on “The Flash,” as the main superhero argues that they can never kill their enemies, regardless of the threat posed and the deaths that might come as a result. Kara needs to realize that these worldkillers have to be stopped, and convincing them that they can overcome what’s inside of them with goodness isn’t going to cut it. She thought she could get there with Grace, but the doctor had already embraced the dark impulses welling up inside of her. Samantha was resisting as much as she could, but she also didn’t want to put Ruby in danger, believing somehow that her transforming into Reign won’t mean the end of the human race. Imra came into conflict with Kara for wanting to find a terminal solution to Pestilence before she was truly born, and now it’s too late to do anything about it. There are eight episodes left in this season, which strikes me as a real surprise given the point that we’ve already reached and how little it seems can happen up until these three worldkillers are finally felled. Cape tricks aren’t going to cut it, and everyone is so distracted with things like Hank’s father and Winn getting over his own stuff with his parents. Let’s hope they can focus and figure out a way to defeat the bad guys and save the world since things are not looking promising for the survival of the human race right now.
