You, Me, Her: Season 3, Episode 6 “Fool Me Once? Shame on You. Fool Me Twice? Blow Me” (B+)
This episode’s title is a real gem, provided by an uncompromisingly angry Izzy, who was only willing to give Emma until she finished her beer to explain what she was doing back at the loft trying to win them over. Leading with her pregnancy would probably have been the smart thing to do, and instead we got to wait for the hilarious ending in which Jack heard him name yelled by Izzy and knew that he was in trouble. Jack also managed to mess up during the relatively peaceful dinner with Ben by saying that he felt more for her than he did for Emma the first time she opened her hotel door. Izzy’s father is paying attention, and it didn’t take him very long to deduce that Izzy’s thesis is inspired by her real-life experiences. He also quickly concluded that Jack was using Izzy as a way to spice up his marriage, something that may have been true. Now, he feels strongly about both women in his life, wearing a dopey grin as he went to put on pants and listened to Emma make a grand speech to try to win Izzy over, something that may be helped by her pregnancy reveal but won’t turn out well for Jack since he’s known for a bit. Shaun saying that he’s the right there in front of me guy didn’t impress Nina, but we’ve all known that was coming for a while since she just hasn’t stopped and bothered to notice him.
