The Flash: Season 7, Episode 8 “The People v. Killer Frost” (B)
There’s something almost too easy about sending a character to jail for the rest of her life without the possibility of parole when the actress portraying her isn’t going anywhere and will continue to be seen regularly on the show. I did also just read after I watched the episode that both Carlos Valdes (Cisco) and Tom Cavanagh (Wells) are officially exiting the series, reports I feel like I’ve seen many times over the years but I guess are finally actually happening. Back to Frost, I’m not sure why there needed to be no possible compromise between having her powers taken away or spending her entire life in prison, and also how living that life in a place where her powers would be suppressed is markedly different from having them stripped away from her. I suppose it comes down to the statement she’s making on behalf of all metas by ensuring that it doesn’t become precedent for this to be a sanctioned punishment for criminal activity. Alexa did not warm to Barry and Nora initially but was then convinced by the Flash, and everything seemed to be going fine until Nora, who we have to remember is not actually Nora, took decisive action to protect the speed force above all else. It’s going to be difficult for Barry to combat an enemy that has given him so much and to figure out how much of its power truly propels him and what he’ll have to sacrifice in order to ensure it doesn’t continue to harm others.
