B Positive: Season 2, Episode 13 “A Boss, a Bear Claw and a Defibrillator” (B+)
I wasn’t sure why we got a double dose of this show on one night, but it looks like it’s going on hiatus for a few weeks. It’s no surprise that any part of Gabby’s job performance would come up given that she puts absolutely no effort into anything, and that definitely complicated the nature of the relationship that Gabby and Gina used to have as employees on the same level. Gideon hasn’t been there long but he’s developed quite an attitude, and while Gina did talk about nothing but work when she came out with them for drinks, it still wasn’t particularly nice. I liked that Harry was the one who came around to comfort Gina when he found her staring into the fire by herself. Drew volunteering to help out and drive is a great solution, though the residents can’t stand his much slower and safer driving and his constant peppy narration. Working at the front desk doesn’t seem like a great fit for him given his inability to transfer calls and his preferred option of just hanging up. Jerry returning home was a rather melancholy development, and though there’s something potentially illegal going on with his scheme to come back to live there, it’s probably for the best given that he has community and is able to thrive socially, which is what he needs most at this point. It’s nice to see him incorporated into this season in a way that actually puts him in better shape and among a comparatively friendlier crowd.
