Ghosts: Season 2, Episode 16 “Isaac’s Book” (B+)
Those ghost powers come in handy sometimes, but they can also serve to really mess things up for the livings. Sam thought telling Isaac that his book was indeed being published after it was soundly rejected would be a victimless crime, but then the ghosts went ahead and put out a humble brag on her Facebook since they thought she was too proud to advertise her success herself. That made for an unfortunate interaction with her returning nemesis Isabel, whose husband Soren, played by Flula Borg from “Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin,” got more stuck on Jay slapping her phone away because he was trying to get her to stop spending so much time on it. The best part was not just that Sam was able to make Isaac see things from her perspective but that the Facebook post ended up convincing the publishers to change their minds since they thought someone else was interested. Soren’s arrival came at a perfectly inconvenient time for Thor to show Flower that he was able to control his anger, but that did lead to Pete humorously teaching him the “take it” method and then having to listen to Flower tell Thor that him being a doormat was a real turnoff. Hetty really was determined to keep her relationship with Trevor a secret by encouraging him to continuing making sexual remarks, but now the cat will most definitely be out of the bag with Nancy and Isaac walking in on them when they couldn’t possibly make up an excuse about what they were doing.
