How I Met Your Father: Season 2, Episode 6 “Universal Therapy” (B)
Well, fortunately we did get to see more of Victor Rasuk’s Oscar, but the sheer size of the necklace he wore that was quite literally his mom was enough of a turn-off for Sophie to sabotage the entire relationship before it really began. Getting him to take it off didn’t turn out to be all that difficult, but then pushing him to put it back on because she thought it made him better at sex was a low point that went predictably badly. Imagining that he had to put it back on when his next girlfriend was similarly unimpressed with his bedroom skills was a humorous coda that she definitely should not have been sharing with her son. Jesse temping for Valentina and her horrible boss played by Dan Bucatinsky threatened to get very uncomfortable, but all it did was lead Jesse back to groveling to Drew and got Valentina a promotion since she finally stood up to the abuse. One person who could have used an advocate of her own was Ellen, who was bullied into asking her therapist about her supposed friends’ problems and then got dropped because she was helping out her uninsured friends. Charlie is also not prone to making great decisions, and falling prey to an attractive sales rep led to a moderately creative scheme to market it at Judy Juice, a perfect opportunity for a celebrity cameo in the form of Judge Judy herself, who smartly swooped in to sell the awful mint rose wine for herself.
