Supergirl: Season 2, Episode 15 “Exodus” (B)
I’m still not too into this whole Jeremiah plotline, but there’s no denying that this was an involving, intense hour that got pretty exciting fast and didn’t let up until its very end. I have to admire Lillian Luthor for being a great supervillain if only for her very sensible decision not to build a kill switch into her destructive plan, since it seems like such an easy way out that gets used in so many situations. Lyra getting taken along with the others listed in the alien registry helped to humanize (a purposeful word choice here) the effort to save them, and having Alex stare right at Kara as she was trying her hardest to use her strength to prevent total chaos added plenty of drama. Alien entities aside, this episode was heavy on the human relationships, with Maggie sticking by Alex when she got herself into trouble with Hank for failing his clever test of loyalty. I don’t see a future in which the full Danvers family has another dinner party all together, but as long as both sisters are getting along and doing well in their relationships, that’s the best that they can hope for at the moment. Kara having Snapper interview Supergirl to get the story out was a smart idea, and publishing on her own when he refused to run it was the only way to spread the word. Getting fired from her job is a blow, and it’s going to take Kara some effort to find some new cover to give her extra purpose.
