What I’m Watching: Superman and Lois

Superman and Lois: Season 2, Episode 11 “Truth and Consequences” (B)

It’s easy to forget that these characters aren’t able to recognize the heroes and villains when they’re not in costume, like the fact that Lana wasn’t aware until the end of this episode that Clark and Superman were the same person. Similarly, it seemed very obvious that Bizarro Jonathan wasn’t acting anything like his counterpart, and Sarah just thought he was acting cocky while Lana was convinced that he was crazy and on drugs based on what he was saying. This was an important test of strength and resolve for Jordan, who managed to channel his developing powers enough to fell the other Jonathan, with Supermn stepping in to catch both of them and bring them back down to earth from high up in the sky. Bizarro Lana was even more aggressive when she showed up, and it’s fortunate that John and Natalie were preparing their own defensive strategies to help save this world from being conquered by the other one. Just as there was previously relationship drama with Jordan and Sarah taking up space in the background of this otherworldly conflict, there was that conversation in this episode between Lois and Sarah about ex-boyfriends and looking back on how you see romances when they’re far in the past. Jordan writing Sarah a letter was a decent gesture, but Sarah was not having it, unwilling to even read it. Now that Clark has read her mom into the family secret, maybe it’s time for Sarah to find out too and forgive Jordan for not sharing what he was going through with her?
