Legends of Tomorrow: Season 7, Episode 10 “The Fixed Point” (B+)
I liked the concept of this episode, that there are countless time travelers out there and they’re all obsessed with coming back to the exact same moment in history thinking that they alone can change it. The notion that time corrects itself when it’s messed with is an old adage, one that I’m okay buying into, and it resulted in some serious entertainment and gambling opportunities here. I liked that Sara’s immortality made it possible for her to try and try again, resulting in some humorous missteps like having the wind blow the poison in her own mouth. I like that Thawne himself announced the surprise factor of him being there to make sure the timeline stays intact, though I have to once again express my confusion at how he wears this face on this show, but he continues to look like Harrison Wells on “The Flash.” I do get that these actors aren’t time travelers and that they can’t necessarily jump between sets with ease, but some consistency would be nice, even if both Matt Letscher and Tom Cavanagh are skilled and I’m happy to watch either one of them play the part. Among the other worthwhile moments of this episode were Ava assuring Gwyn that he has a right to be with whoever he wants and Zari and Spooner’s awkward moment of one-on-one interaction turning into a great opportunity for Spooner to come out as asexual. Now let’s get back to the action and see if the legends can manage to make this work in just forty minutes.
