Killing Eve: Season 4, Episode 4 “It’s Agony and I’m Ravenous” (B+)
The relationship between Eve and Hélène is fascinating, and it’s especially intriguing since I think it’s the dynamic that Villanelle has always wanted to have with Eve. Shaving her legs in the bath was quite a suggestive act, and there really was not as much room in there as it seemed when she finally got in with her. Eve going in for the kiss made sense story-wise, but it’s certainly going to complicate things when one of them tries to kill the other. The fact that Hélène got Villanelle sprung from jail is also a loose end, though she went right away to kill Carolyn, something she fortunately didn’t do since she’s such a great character. That was some gruesome stuff with the toes and fingers that I think could have been left to the imagination, and I’m much more about the two of them playing truth or dare and Carolyn asking about what drew her to Eve. The two make a good duo, especially when Villanelle is able to chase after people that Carolyn thought were dead as soon as she checks with her that it’s the desired goal. It is definitely weird to hear Sandra Oh speaking with a British accent, but it shouldn’t come as a surprise that she’s able to pull it off. Konstantin seemed thoroughly uninterested in his new training assignment, and I loved how happy he was when Pam came up behind him and pushed him into the sea. They’re off to a much better start now.
