What I’m Watching: Upload (Season Finale)

Upload: Season 2, Episode 7 “Download” (B+)

I wasn’t ready for this season to end, and I sincerely hope that this show will have a long and healthy future. Things accelerated very quickly from Nathan not knowing that Ingrid was working to regenerate his body to him being downloaded into it a short time later. His reaction to her two surprises – that he owed her nothing – was a bit harsh but understandable given the circumstances of how manipulative she was to have deceived him for so long. Nora, whose name Ingrid couldn’t get right even when she literally said it to her, did a fantastic job of talking Ingrid down, though it appears that she’s just as committed to bringing him back to life as ever, no matter how long it takes or how much she has to spend. It’s very possible then that we could end up with three different Nathans, the one whose nose is currently bleeding in a train compartment, the one Ingrid intends to bring online, and the version that Tinsley is restoring from an auto-backup since she apparently starts every day by checking in on him. He’s quite the charmer, though Nora also had to deal with her own ex who was unhappy to see her shacking up with another guy after he had just helped her. Aleesha’s promotion means more money but also more evil, and Luke is going to be overjoyed when a new version of Nathan shows up to his already made-up couch. This has been a superb second season and I eagerly await news of when season three is coming.

Season grade: A-
Season MVP: Andy Allo as Nora and Allegra Edwards as Ingrid
