My predictions: 2/6, picking only Michael J. Fox and Jeremy Davies
So much for Mykelti Williamson and Chris Messina getting recognized, but this is a pretty damn good list. Most perplexing is the inclusion of Jason Ritter (Parenthood), who is hardly the strongest actor on a show full of fantastic performers completely ignored by Emmy voters for that particular series. Matthew Perry didn’t make the cut, but past nominees Dylan Baker and Michael J. Fox earned their second nominations for “The Good Wife” (Fox also earned a nod in the comedy guest acting race). Jeremy Davies (Justified) was great on the FX drama this year, and it’s just a shame that he’s the show’s sole representative. It’s exciting to see ensemble players recognized from two highly-heralded shows, and that would be the bell-ringing Mark Margolis (Breaking Bad) and the rule-breaking Ben Feldman (Mad Men), ousting the usually-nominated Robert Morse from the same series.
Who should win? Fox or Davies, but they’re all good choices
Who will win? Probably Fox.
