Emmy Nominees: Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series

My predictions: 4/6, picking January Jones and Kelly Macdonald over Joanne Froggatt and Anna Gunn

As with all of the other drama categories, “Downton Abbey” snuck in to claim a few spots, with Maggie Smith and Joanne Froggatt earning nominations. It seems like Emmy voters really don’t like January Jones, nominating her just once over the show’s five-year history, and instead honoring just Christina Hendricks for the third time. Kelly Macdonald is out as “Boardwalk Empire” earns just a few high-profile nods this year, and another disenchanted wife of a criminal gets in, Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad). I thought she deserved a nod for her lead performance two years ago, but it’s still good to see her nominated. Though their show was toppled from the Best Drama Series race by “Downton Abbey,” Christine Baranski and Archie Panjabi still seem to be invincible.

Who should win? Hendricks or Panjabi
Who will win? Smith
