Emmy Nominees: Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series

My predictions: 5/6, picking Nick Offerman over Bill Hader

No offense to Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live) since he is a funny guy and a terrific ensemble player, but it seems like Emmy voters are just trying hard not to nominate Nick Offerman. The bad weather yesterday derailed his plans to come announce the Emmys (they nearly grounded me in North Carolina too), but his fate was sealed long before that, sadly. The snub of “Parks and Recreation” in the Best Comedy Series is appalling, but this is equally horrendous. That said, the rest of the list is pretty deserving. The four “Modern Family” men - Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ed O’Neill,, and Eric Stonestreet - all continue to be excellent, and joining them is a fun fresh face, Max Greenfield (New Girl). Also of note is the omission of Chris Colfer from “Glee,” a show that found itself with a measly one major nomination in guest acting this year. Strange too that Mayim Bialik finally got in but Simon Helberg didn’t for “The Big Bang Theory.”

Who should win? Greenfield
Who will win? It would be fun if it was Greenfield, but I think it’ll be Burrell again.
