Emmy Nominees: Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series

My predictions: 4/6, picking Kelsey Grammer and Timothy Olyphant over Hugh Boneville and Michael C. Hall

This is actually a pretty fine list, but it still doesn’t justify the omission of Kelsey Grammer and the complete ignorance of anything great on “Justified” this past year aside from Jeremy Davies’ recurring guest spot. Hugh Boneville appears as part of the major dominance by “Downton Abbey,” and Michael C. Hall (Dexter) made it in despite the complete disappearance of his show from any other categories. Back after a one-year hiatus is Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), joining last year’s nominees Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire) and Jon Hamm (Mad Men). Fortunately, Damian Lewis (Homeland) made the cut, though his show didn’t perform exceptionally, making the basic expected placements but not much more. Notably snubbed: Hugh Laurie for the final show of “House,” and Dustin Hoffman for the only season of “Luck.”

Who should win? Cranston or Lewis
Who will win? I think this goes to Cranston again.
