My predictions: 4/6, picking Mariska Hargitay and Jessica Paré over Kathy Bates and Michelle Dockery
I’m not overly upset about the snubs in this category, though it would have been nice to see Jessica Paré crack the category, especially over the likes of Kathy Bates (Harry’s Law). “Downton Abbey” dominates with a nomination in all the main acting races, including this one, for Michelle Dockery. After a year hiatus, Glenn Close (Damages) is back in the race, which is a shame since other excellent players on the show, namely John Goodman, Dylan Baker, and Chris Messina, were all ignored. Claire Danes (Homeland) is an obvious inclusion, along with returning nominees Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife), whose show was snubbed in the top race, and Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men).
