What I’m Watching: Billions

Billions: Season 6, Episode 7 “Napoleon's Hat” (B+)

Well, they did it. The Olympics are officially coming to New York in 2028 in this show’s universe, something I couldn’t imagine planning for so far in advance given the current state of the world. What Prince failed to do, of course, was to understand that Andy wanted him to show that he would follow her wherever she was, not just show up on a private jet as often as he needed to in order to symbolize his commitment. Prince also may have had to compromise his principles in order to make this happen, and while the Olympics are now officially coming to New York and he is the main reason for it, Chuck is still going to go after him and may manage to get him. In the meantime, Dave continues to point out that Chuck has a vendetta but that he’s missing the good that’s happening in the process, like the scholarships that Prince is offering that Kate made sure were worded in bulletproof legal fashion. Going after the idea of wealth is indeed something that can’t be prosecuted in court, and it was important for her to call him out on belonging to that class and therefore being somehow angrier about it. It was interesting to see Chuck and Wendy show up to volunteer at the same event for their eternally invisible children and actually have a great time together. Being back on good terms is about as much as they can hope for, since apparently they were both too busy to enjoy the lavish meal the private chef prepared that the nanny got to enjoy all on her own with him.
