What I’m Watching: Legends of Tomorrow (Season Finale)

Legends of Tomorrow: Season 7, Episode 13 “Knocked Down, Knocked Up” (B+)

This is that nerve-racking moment where it’s entirely possible that this could be the last we’ll ever see of this show, but I don’t think that’s the case, especially due to the cliffhanger ending which could easily have been avoided if the powers that be had an inkling that the show was coming to an end. The only reason I could see that happening is if the CW was prepared to axe all of its superhero shows, but I highly doubt that’s going to happen anytime soon. Back to this show, this was an action-packed episode, one that finally found Gary building a door in 30,000 BC so that he could get to the rest of the legends and tell them about Alun and Gideon. It was also useful to know that Sara was pregnant, something that’s apparently possible because she’s an alien. Evil Gideon turned into quite the villainous Terminator at the end there, but fortunately Astra was able to reconstruct the ship after Good Gideon figured out a way to get her to destroy herself. I was thrilled to see Donald Faison, an actor I’ve liked since “Scrubs” and recently saw on “The L Word: Generation Q,” as the keeper of the fixed point who stopped time to play a round of golf on a World War I battlefield to keep himself entertained. Stealing the Wave Rider and destroying Gwyn’s time machine made it seem like they would be marooned there for years, but it turns out things are much worse, and the legends, minus departing member Nate, are going to have to explain themselves and defend their actions in a theoretical and likely to soon be announced season eight. I’m in!

Season grade: B+
Season MVP: Nick Zano as Nate
